依撒意亞先知書 60:1-6

默想︰

主顯節紀念的，是東方賢士來朝所彰顯的真理：「外邦人藉著福音在基督耶穌內與猶太人同為承繼人，同為一身，同為恩許的分享人」。

熱愛宗教和觀察星宿的賢士們的堅定信念，教人景仰。他們的信心，竟能使他們看到星宿以外的奧秘：這信心引領他們，不畏茫茫在前的艱辛路途，一直向前，直到覲見新生的救主。

他們的旅程，是一個信仰的旅程 - 從黑暗走到基督奇妙之光的旅程。在高空引領他們的那顆星，是基督之光的象徵。他們心無雜念，只一心希望尋得心中的渴望。當然，他們期望在旅程的盡頭，見到很不尋常的事。而事實也的確如此。因為天主在一名弱小嬰兒身上，給他們顯現。他們做夢也不會想到；那無限的，竟在有限身上顯示自己！今天讀經描述的顯赫，無法與一個無人接待、誕生在馬槽中的貧弱嬰兒，相對稱。然而，就這樣，那不平凡的，成了平凡的；致使平凡的，可以成為不平凡的。

天主，祢至高無上，卻屈尊就卑。求祢幫助我們摒除傲慢，完全謙下，在祢面前俯首伏地朝拜，因為只有這樣，我們才能領略福音的真諦。

Meditation

In their thirst for knowledge of God, the wise men from the East willingly left everything, their home and country, in pursuit of that quest. In their diligent search they were led to the source of true knowledge – to Jesus Christ, the Light and Wisdom of God. When they found the newborn King they humbly worshiped him and gave him gifts fitting for a king. How could they recognize this infant as both divine and a human king – born of flesh yet sent from heaven? The early church fathers taught that only divine revelation could open the minds and hearts of people to recognize and receive Christ as their King and Saviour.

To know and to encounter Jesus Christ is to know God personally. In the encounter of the wise men with Jesus we see the plan of God to give his only Son as King and Saviour, not just for the Jewish people but for all the nations as well. The Lord Jesus came so that both Jew and Gentile might find true and lasting peace with God. Let us pray today that Jew and Gentile alike will find the Lord and Savior on their journey of life. Do you bring the light of Jesus Christ to those you meet through the witness of your life and testimony?

Lord Jesus Christ, we thank You for bringing salvation to all the nations. May the gospel of salvation be proclaimed to every nation today and to every person on the face of the earth. Help me to be a good witness of the joy of the gospel to all I meet.
