Cheung Chau Caritas Bazaar

The Cheung Chau Caritas Bazaar will be held on Sunday, 20th November 2011, at Pak Tai Temple Playground from 10am to 5pm. As in previous years, our parish will operate a game booth at the Bazaar to raise funds for Caritas. We invite volunteers to assist at the booth and appeal for donations of NEW household items and presents. New Trinity Chapel Catholic Committee Members

Congratulations to Teresa Tsang, the new Chairman, and the other new officers of the Trinity Chapel Committee elected at the Annual General Meeting last Sunday. Their willingness to take on these responsibilities in service of our Parish is deeply appreciated, as is the faithful service of the previous members now leaving the Committee.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Our expenses for the month of September amounted to $2,601.01, inclusive of helping with the medical expenses of a family in Discovery Bay, buying gifts for visits to two homes for the aged in Mui Wo and also for home visits to thirteen elderly persons in Peng Chau. The above expenses will be met by the Central Council of the Society, as this month’s church door collections have already been earmarked for the African famine victims. The Society would like to thank you once again for your generosity.

October is the Month of The Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Rosary

All Catholics are encouraged to pray the Rosary daily and make it part of their spiritual lives. The Rosary is a Christocentric prayer. It has all the depth of the Gospel message in its entirety. It is hoped that every Catholic will always have the rosary prayer beads on their person – making the sign of the cross and the rosary are unique symbols of your Catholic identity. To honour Our Mother Mary, during the month of October Rosary will be said before the 9:00am Mass at 8:30am in Chinese at the covered playground at the main entrance of the school.

Pastoral Care Ministry

A reminder that if anyone who is sick in hospital or housebound and unable to come to mass would like to receive Holy Communion, please contact one of the Eucharistic Ministers on the Pastoral Care Ministry list on the notice board outside the hall.
