長洲明愛慈善賣物會

在超過二十名堂區兄弟姊妹義工的精誠合作下，上週日經由兩個遊戲及賣物攤位上籌得善款12,223.6元，扣除運輸開支780元，實得款項為11,443.6元。此外，我們亦贏得當天「攤位佈置優異奬」。謹此向所有支持是項工作者致謝。


喜宴叙會

請來參與我們於12月4日星期日下午2:45至5:00在東涌天主教學校四樓舉行的聖誕宴會。今次主題是「英雄II」。快來參加成為我們的英雄!


敬禮墨西哥瓜多露比聖母彌撒

在本年12月12日星期一下午4:00在堅道16號主教座堂將為敬禮墨西哥瓜多露比聖母舉行彌撒，由香港教區湯漢主教主祭，歡迎教友參加。12月12日是瓜多露比聖母的瞻禮日。於1531年當天無玷童貞瑪利亞將她的肖像留在聖璜迪哥的斗篷上，肖像至今依然栩栩如生。斗篷現存放於墨西哥的大教堂讓人參觀。歡迎參加者帶同一枝玫瑰花，象徵對聖母的奉獻。


羅馬彌撒經書

本於全球大部分地區推行從希臘文新譯成英文的「感恩祭禮儀」冊子，於2011年11月27日開始使用，現因禮儀道理培訓及對有關事宜作深入周詳之考慮後，湯漢主教決定將香港教區之推行日期延後至2012年12月2日。是項英文譯本一律須經教區正式核准方可始用。各堂區須作足夠之事先準備，並得向教友作妥善公告，而有關支援性的教材物料及任何查詢，則請與教區禮儀委員會聯絡。


聖雲先會

12月4日主日彌撒後在禮堂門外籌集善款，請慷慨解囊。每月例會將在12月11日星期日上午10:15在國際學校1-20號課室舉行。


徹夜明供聖體

聖母無玷聖心會推行的徹夜明供聖體善工，將在12月2 日星期五晚上9：00至第二天早上6：00舉行。明供聖體期間，為了安全起見，由午夜12:00開始，進入小聖堂將按照各人預約的時間安排，已在小聖堂內的人士則可以自由離開。欲知詳情請聯絡Albert Chan 電話：9181-7206 或 Betty Leung電話：9721-9368。


Cheung Chau Caritas Bazaar

Another expression of Christian fidelity and love – Over twenty volunteers from our parish organized two game and sale booths at Cheung Chau Caritas Bazaar on 20th November 2011. The total proceeds from games and the sale of donated items was $12,223.60, less $780 for travelling subsidies for the volunteers, leaving a total donation of $11,443.60. We also won a prize for game design. Thank you very much to ALL who supported this function.


Mui Wo Chapel Flea Market

Mui Wo Chapel’s flea market will be held at the Chapel on Saturday, 26th November, from 11am to 4pm, and on Sunday, 27th November, from 1-4pm. We invite volunteers to assist at the booth and appeal for donations of NEW household items and presents. You can also rent a booth for business use, at $50 per booth. The Feast

Come and join us in celebrating the Christmas Feast on Sunday, 4th December, from 2:45 to 5:00pm at the Tung Chung Catholic School, 4th Floor, as we continue with our topic “Heroes, Part II”. Come and be a hero to others.


Mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe

Mass in honour of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be celebrated by The Most Reverend John Tong Hon, Bishop of Hong Kong, at 4pm on Monday, 12th December 2011, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 16 Caine Road, Hong Kong. The 12th of December is the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It was on this day in 1531 that the Immaculate Virgin Mary left her own image in the mantle of St. Juan Diego. The image is still fresh and vivid, and can be seen at the Basilica in Mexico City. You are welcome to bring a rose to the Mass as an offering to Our Lady.


Implementation of the New English Missal

The new English Missal (new translation from the Latin into English of the Holy Mass) will come into effect in most English-speaking areas of the world on the First Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2011. After taking into consideration the situation in other dioceses, Bishop John TONG has decided that, to leave sufficient time for a wider and more thorough catechesis on the changes in the new Missal, our diocese will postpone its formal implementation to the First Sunday of Advent next year, December 2, 2012. Any new English version of the Roman Missal adopted for use must have official Church approval, while parishes should provide adequate information for the faithful beforehand. Enquiries regarding teaching material and other relevant matters should be referred to the Office of the Diocesan Liturgy Commission.


Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

The Society of the Sacred Heart of Mary is continuing the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament overnight on the first Friday of every month, with the next Adoration to be on 2nd December. The Adoration is from 9pm until 6am the next morning in Trinity Chapel, 1D Glamour Court. For safety’s sake, entering the Chapel after midnight will have to be arranged by appointment. All are welcome to participate, pray and express gratitude to the Lord in this special and solemn way for His Salvation and Grace.


Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will have churchdoor collections on 3rd and 4th December 2011. Our monthly meeting will be held on Sunday, 11th December, at 10:15am in DBIS classroom 1-20.
