默想︰

多年前到修院上課，選修了天主聖三神學。起初不覺困難，可是教授愈講愈深入，大部分同學對他的提問都無言以對。教授安慰我們說：「這些都是天主的奧秘，不明白也算不了甚麼」。自此每有神學上不懂回答的問題，同學以「天主的奧秘」來回應，必引起哄堂大笑。

基督信仰的天主觀十分獨特。我們深信天主只有一個，但有三位，即聖父、聖子、聖神。父是天主，子是天主，聖神也是天主；但父不是子也不是聖神，子不是父也不是聖神，聖神不是父也不是子。或許「水」能幫助我們明白多一點：流動的水是水，冰是水，蒸氣是水；但流動的水不是冰，也不是蒸氣……。我的聖三學教授對這個粗疏的比喻，一定搖頭歎息，說不倫不類！

還是今天讀經二聖保祿宗徒說的有權威，明顯地證實天主聖三的道理。他說：「願主耶穌基督的恩寵，和天主的愛情，以及聖神的相通，常與你們眾人相偕」（格後13:13）。

主，請以祢的奧秘加強我們的信望愛三德，幫助我們日復一日做個更喜悅於事奉祢的孝順子女。

The doctrine of the Blessed Trinity frequently has very little impact on the spiritual lives of most Christians. The Feast of the Blessed Trinity, then, is not one of the most celebrated feast days of the Church: it is not marked by such festivities as, for example, Corpus Christi or the Immaculate Conception.

Trinity Sunday, however, does play an important part in fostering our Catholic spirituality. The readings remind us that Jesus did not come into this world on His own initiative. Nor did He go through this world alone. All the gospels remind us that He was a man filled with the Holy Spirit. He was conscious of His mission: He was sent to do the Father's will and so accomplish the work of our redemption. Jesus was a perfectly self-transcendent person. His whole life was an engagement in the work of God for our salvation. His whole human life was entirely engaged in his salvific mission. This earned Him the enmity of the Jewish rulers, but that enmity did not deflect Him from His purpose in life. In Jesus we find the model for our own lives.

Father in Heaven, may Your Holy Spirit make each one of us an everlasting gift to You as we follow Jesus Your Son in responding to Your invitation to life.
